We refer to our websites and mobile apps, as well as the Varius smart object technology that may be integrated into third-party apps, websites and other online services, collectively as the “Services.”

We collect information you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information you provide when you create an account, subscribe to our updates, respond to a survey, fill out a form, request customer support or communicate with us. The types of information we may collect include your name, email address, telephone number, username and password, and any other information you choose to provide.


When you access or use our Services, including when you use third-party apps and websites that have integrated our Services, we automatically collect usage and other device information, including:


  • Log Information. We collect certain information in server logs whenever you access our Services, including access times, pages viewed, IP address, and the web page that referred you to our website or a website that has integrated our Services.
  • Device Information. We collect information about the device you use to access our Services, such as the hardware model, operating system and version, web browser, and unique device identifiers.
  • Location Information. We collect location information from your mobile device in connection with our apps and third-party apps that have integrated our Services. We use various technologies to determine location, including IP address, GPS, Wi-Fi access points and cell towers.
  • Information Collected by Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies via Our Services: We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons and various other technologies to collect information when you interact with our Services, including via third-party websites and apps that have integrated our Services. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory. Cookies and similar technologies, including the advertising identifier assigned to mobile devices, help us to track usage activity, understand how users respond to ads and what ads may interest them, count visits, and see which areas and features of a website or app are popular. Web beacons (or pixel tags) are electronic images that may be used in our web Services or emails to help deliver cookies, count website visits, understand usage and determine the effectiveness of email marketing campaigns. Please note that we do not currently respond to web browser “Do Not Track” or similar signals.


We may also receive information about you from other sources, such as when you use your username and password for a separate third-party social media service (such as Facebook) to log into your Varius account. We receive information from that service as indicated in that service’s authorization screen or privacy policy.


We combine the information we receive about you and may use it for various purposes, including to:


  • Provide, maintain, deliver and improve our Services;
  • Send you technical notices and support and administrative messages;
  • Communicate with you about products, news, services, promotions, and events we think will be interesting to you;
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities on our Services and the websites and apps that have integrated our Services;
  • Detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities and protect the rights and property of Varius and others;
  • Personalize our Services and the websites and apps that have integrated our Services, including by providing content, advertisements or features that match user profiles or interests; and
  • Carry out any other purpose for which the information was collected.


We may share information about you with others as follows:


  • Whenever our Services are integrated into a third-party app or website, we share profile information (name, email and telephone number) as well as information we collect in connection with your use of that app or website (which may include location information, device identifiers and other usage data). Please refer to the privacy policies of the websites and apps you use for information about how they use and disclose this information;
  • We will post transaction information to the blockchain in connection with your purchase, sale or transfer of digital objects via our Services, which will include details about the transaction, a transaction identifier and the public key associated with the transaction;
  • With service providers who need access to the information to perform work for us;
  • In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law, regulation or legal process;
  • If we believe your actions are inconsistent with our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property and safety of Varius or others;
  • In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company;
  • Between and among Varius and its current and future parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and other companies under common control and ownership; or
  • With your consent or at your direction.


We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.


Our Services may offer social sharing features and other integrated tools. Your use of such features enables the sharing of information with your contacts or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the company that provides the social sharing service. We may allow others to provide advertising and analytics services on our behalf in connection with our Services and across third-party websites and apps. These entities may use cookies, web beacons and other technologies (including advertiser identifiers) to collect information about your use of the Services and other websites and apps, including your IP address, web browser, pages viewed, app performance, time spent on pages, links clicked and conversion information. This information may be used by Varius and others to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, better understand your online activity and deliver ads based on your interests. Varius takes reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.


Varius is based in the United States and the information we collect is governed by U.S. law. By accessing or using our Services or otherwise providing information to us, you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the U.S. and other countries, where you may not have the same rights as you do under local law. Where this is the case, we will take appropriate action.
